Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease wherein the synovial membranes’ lining becomes inflamed and thickened and manufactures excessive synovial fluid, resulting to pain, swelling, stiffness and redness. Its associated inflammation slowly spreads to the underlying bone, causing it to become distorted and worn. This disease usually affects smaller joints in feet and hands but can also affect ankles, wrist, knees and neck. People with this illness often feel ill and may experience weight loss and fever. Their other body parts like their eyes may also be inflamed.
