What Makes the Hells Angels Jacket So Iconic?

I have always been curious about the meaning of the hells angels jacket and how important is to the bikers’ world. This colorful design and contrasting patches mean freedom and brotherhood, or most likely revolt. I'm curious: what does each part of the jacket symbolizes? Why is it such an important component of the Hells Angels? Particularly, it is possible to ask several questions: Is there any special etiquette connected with their wearing? I have been told that only certain people are allowed to wear it but I would love to know more. Any ideas or information anybody has would be good.
